Yucca Care Tips
I receive a lot of emails from yucca plant owners. Almost of them are the same and touch very popular questions about plant care, planting, watering, propagating and etc. That is one the reasons I build this website and publish all necessary information related to yucca plants.
There are a lot of web pages on Internet where you can read articles on yucca care. Even more, I think you already did. So, I decided do not write another article on plant care and repeat other resources. I went other way - I decided to combine all tips that help yucca owners in their weekly care routine to maintain healthy plant and enjoy this beautiful creation.
If I forgot to add something, you can always remind me about it and I will add it to the list below.
Yucca care tips:
- Best months for planting yuccas are from April through June.
- Yuccas require well-drained soil for best performance. Gravel and sand improve drainage.
- Fertilizing of yucca plants every 1-2 years is sufficient.
- Yuccas are very sensitive to transplanting and root damage.
- Water yucca plants every 2-3 weeks. Do not overwater them.
- When planting yuccas it’s necessarily to put them a little high in the pot.
- Yuccas need to be repotted every 3 years.
- Best places to grow yucca plants are full sun or partially shaded areas.
