Yucca Plant Watering
Watering of yucca plant is dependent on the local weather conditions and the individual species. In rainy and moist climates, such as the eastern part of the United States, most yuccas easily can survive on natural rainfall.
New plantings need to be watered during the hot summer to ensure proper growth if rain does not happen regularly. In semi-dry zones, in high ground regions, such as much of the western part of the United States, and in cool coastal countries with dry climates, yuccas rarely need more than rare watering in the driest periods. When dryness is extensive, as can occur in costal climates, irrigating every 2-3 weeks is necessary to maintain a healthy yucca plant.
Again, new baby plants need to be watered more often until they are grown fully. In the hottest climates, additional watering of yuccas is critical for their survival. Such irrigation is important especially for yuccas which are domestic to wet areas, but even the most adaptive species profit from irregular watering in summer.
Further irrigation for yucca plant is best done manually and only when required. In the low desert countries, plants can be allocated on auto sprinkler systems. Specific care should be applied to yucca plants for protecting them of any bacterial and fungal infection that might appear after plentiful irrigation.
